What a Charmer!

Four days ago a wonderful little 17 month old golden retriever named Buddy became part of our family.  Buddy, Budster, or Butters has quickly wormed his way into our hearts and also has formed a tight bond with Meggie, our 3.5 year old golden.   Meggie was devastated when our male golden Barney suddenly collapsed and died July 4.   We decided she needed a companion and went to GRREAT, Golden Retriever Rescue, Education and Training in the DC/MD/VA area to adopt.  She and Buddy have quickly become fast friends but she’s watching him – he’s quite puppy yet and it’s funny to watch his antics with her.  I have a few more photos– mostly when they are on the bed because any other time I can’t get them to hold still long enough to snap a picture.

This was an ATC I made for a July swap with my ARTHaven Yahoo Group.  The requirement was to add a funny hat to the picture!   This is my first ATC and I really enjoyed making it.

100_0540        We also had a Monthly Lottery and our theme was My Fair Lady this month.  Winner would receive all the items that were entered into the lottery!   Below is a picture of a purse card I made!  I really had fun with these and found them perfect for my granddaughter!   Surprisingly, I won and was the recipient of several journals, wall hangings and some lovely earrings.   As the winner for the lottery, I also got to select the topic for next month’s lottery.  I thought “Roaring 20’s” would be fun!

The last swap for the month was “Christmas” in July.  Make a Christmas card and matching envelope to swap.  This was my entry for the swap – difficult to think of holidays in July?

That’s it for today.  Several projects in the works.  See you soon.  Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Hi Kerry! I see you are an animal lover too. I went to Stampaway Convention in Ohio this weekend and was lucky enough to take 2 classes from my Hero Tim Holtz. He said he found the little suitcases and contacted the company that made them and bought EVERY ONE of them, and that they don't make them anymore. We sanded them lightly so they would look used and made the little book from scratch! I may put the instructions on my Blog since you were so nice to message me. I thought that being on ATT and posting it would help get "followers" from the group. But not so - she basically went to my photo and started her own "domino" swap without so much as a thank you...so I'm not sure how I feel about the group yet. The group was saying the suitcases were around YEARS ago and she thought they had dominoes inside (makes sense Tim would buy them then)...she is scanning ebay and online. If I find any I will definitely send you one ;-) I'm "following" your blog now, talk to you soon. Your blog is so darn cute!

  3. Just found your blog from the Yahoo site. I love dogs too but mine are a bit smaller than yours; shih tuzs. :) We have quite a few labs in our distant family though. :) Sorry to hear about the loss of your last furbaby but so happy to hear you are welcoming another one into your home. I love the tags you've created on the site here. I'm always interested in finding new ways to re-do things. I'll be following along.... :)
